Ballyteige Lodge is a beautiful haven situated at Ballyteige Bridge, close to the village of Aughrim amongst the rolling Wicklow hills. The historic shooting lodge is also a wedding and events venue and hosts retreat weekends. The lodge itself was built in 1900 as shooting lodge and country retreat for the eminent Dublin Surgeon, John McArdle. The house is situated at the meeting point of three interlocking valleys along the River Ow. Extensive planting was carried out in the late Victorian era that has, a hundred years on, left a legacy of mature trees and shrubs Wild swimming by appointment in our Salmon pool gardens open daily or guests can use Ballyteige House as a base to go hiking or cycling, or relax in the garden and use the barbecue facilities.
